‘Star Wars’ star John Boyega reveals he secretly got married 2 years ago and is expecting baby

Make Page Six a Preferred Source John Boyega is a married man with a baby boy on the way, he revealed.

The “Star Wars” actor dropped the big news in an interview with the Guardian published on Oct. 4. When the reporter asked him about the ring he was wearing on his hand, he confirmed that it’s a wedding ring and that he’s been married for two years now.

Boyega, 34, did not share the identity of his wife, only noting that the two had a small ceremony — but he would love to have a wedding celebration down the line.

“We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry,” he explained.

“And by then, we’ll have to shut Nigeria down!,” the British actor, who’s of Nigerian descent, joked.

Boyega later dropped that the two are expecting a boy, and that he’s also now a stepdad to a young boy.

“My baby’s on the way,” he said. “We got a baby cooking.”

He also shared, “So, you know, my life is completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family.”

Boyega is best known for playing Finn in the “Star Wars” franchise. He’s been open about the online harassment he received from racist fans, including blasting them on Instagram Live back in 2020.

In 2022, he praised Disney for defending “Obi-Wan Kenobi” star Moses Ingram after she also faced racist abuse online.

“It makes me feel like, ‘Okay, cool. I am not the elephant in the room.’ Because when I started, it wasn’t really a conversation you could bring up,” he said during his appearance on SiriusXM’s “Tell Me Everything With John Fugelsang.”

“You know how they went through it. It was kind of like, ‘Let’s just be silent,'” he continued. “It wasn’t a conversation you could bring up.”

Comparing the support Ingram received from the company to the lack of support he received himself, Boyega insisted he was not “bitter.”

“Sometimes you’re not the guy to get the blessing and sometimes you are Moses, you know, you lead the people to the mountain, but you see the destination,” he explained. “You don’t get to go in, you get others to go in. And that’s where you get your happiness from.”
