Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET), the cloud and AI-networking supplier, unveiled an Ethernet push deeper into AI computing, but shares traded at $211.01 on October 12, down approximately 2.7% at 11.34am EST. The pitch is simple: give customers more freedom to connect AI chips without locking their infrastructure into one supplier's proprietary network. The opportunity is bigger than connecting servers. Arista wants Ethernet to handle the demanding traffic inside accelerator racks, too.

The company's Etherlink SU-144 architecture supports 144 accelerators over a single-hop network and up to 1,024 through connections across racks. Its liquid-cooled 7060XE7 switches deliver 102.4 terabits per second each. Next-generation optics could lift rack bandwidth from 1.6 to 6.5 petabits per second. Those specifications target a costly AI bottleneck: keeping chips fed with data as computing clusters grow.
The valuation leaves little room for disappointment: $211.01 sits 24.87% above the chart's GF Value estimate of $168.98. Broader Ethernet adoption could expand Arista's market, but technical capacity does not equal booked revenue. The announcement disclosed no orders, pricing or shipment volumes. Investors now need evidence that cloud customers will turn these designs into commercial deployments.
