There was a classic showdown. There were multiple stunning upsets. There were top-10 teams with tougher-than-expected tests.

The night ended with Georgia outlasting Alabama in a highly anticipated matchup that lived up to the hype, a clash of two college football titans that could see one another again in the SEC championship game and the College Football Playoff as well.

The Bulldogs are the new No. 1 team in The Post’s latest top-10 rankings after notching the best win of the season, leaving Bryant-Denny Stadium victorious. The Crimson Tide acquitted themselves well, too, and may have prevailed if not for a blatantly missed pass interference call against Georgia that would’ve given Alabama the ball at the Bulldogs ‘ 19-yard line with 3:28 remaining down three.
