Nick Sirianni takes blame for costly Eagles decision in crushing loss to Jaguars: ‘I lost us that game’

Make New York Post a Preferred Source A wild finish in the Eagles game in London left the Giants as the only team above .500 in the NFC East.

Poor clock management gave the Jaguars a chance to win in the closing seconds, and they pulled out a 19-17 victory on a 57-yard field goal by Cam Little as time expired at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

The banged-up Eagles (2-3) had grabbed a one-point lead on a 48-yard field goal by Jake Elliott with eight seconds remaining, but they could have nursed the clock down further before the kick.

Jacksonville returner Ameer Abdullah then ran the kick back 53 yards across midfield, putting the Jaguars in field-goal range at the Philadelphia 38-yard line with one second left on the clock.

“I didn’t make the right decision. I lost us that game,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said afterward.

Little had missed an extra point earlier in the fourth quarter — on Parker Washington’s go-ahead TD reception from Trevor Lawrence with 3:20 to play– following a high snap by fill-in long snapper Davon Hamilton, who was replacing injured Ross Matiscik (shoulder).

Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. also was ejected for fighting with Jags defensive lineman Bryan Thomas (also disqualified) on the opening kickoff.

Jacksonville left tackle Anton Harrison (knee) and cornerback Montaric Brown (hamstring) also departed with injuies.

The Jaguars (4-1) had also failed to cash in on first-and-goal situation from the 1-yard line in the fourth quarter, taking three penalties, including two delay of game flags.
