Make Page Six a Preferred Source Live means live, Shane.
Shane Gillis accidentally dropped an F-bomb on “Saturday Night Live” as he derailed a Dr. Seuss-inspired sketch — later apologizing for the on-air gaffe.
The 38-year-old comedian — who was hosting the NBC sketch show for the third time — played Zachary, a Seuss-looking character, tasked with stopping Sam-I-Am, played by Andrew Dismukes, from harassing his father, Mikey Day, with a platter of green eggs and ham
“Bro, it’s a non-starter. He said he doesn’t f–king geez like em,” Gillis said, tensing up as he broke character.
Gillis surprised the crowd inside Studio 8H — including himself — and “SNL” cast members with the slip-of-the-tongue remark.
“Oh no,” the comedian shouted before the audience erupted in laughter.
Gillis took a beat and broke the fourth wall, waving to the audience and addressing the mistake to Dismukes and Day.
The blushing host attempted to get the sketch back on track as he fought through a smile.
As the scene unfolded, Day also went off script as he was kicking Gillis’ character out of the house.
“You’re a loser and you said a bad word,” Day quipped.
“Yes, I did,” Gillis agreed, scoring another round of laughs from the crowd.
Gillis later made a quick apology to the audience during the end show bows alongside musical guest Rosalia and the rest of the “SNL” cast
“And uh sorry about earlier, thank you guys very much. Have a good night,” the comedian said, signing off.
Despite Gillis clearly dropping an F-bomb during the live broadcast, “SNL” censored the remark in edited versions of the episode released online.
“SNL” officially rated TV-14 may skirt free from any FCC fines as it airs well past the 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. window where federal law prohibits obscene, indecent and profane content from being broadcast on the radio or TV.
Gillis isn’t the first “SNL” host to drop the F-bomb, as Sabrina Carpenter cursed the word twice singing her hit song “Nobody’s Son” when she pulled double duty as host and musical guest on Oct. 18, 2025, EW reported.
Earlier in the night, Gillis was met with jeers from the audience for his description of female gymgoers during his monologue
“I haven’t been to the gym in so long, I didn’t realize women just dressed like whores now,” Gillis said to a mixture of laughs and groans from the audience.
“Look, I’m sorry there’s no other way to describe it. Have you seen it, I’ve seen it,” he said as he described the gymwear.
“The shorts, have you seen the shorts. Those neon, they’re like artificial bait color. The wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole,” he said, garnering some laughs.
“And don’t look, you’re not allowed to look. For real, don’t look because they are filming. I’m in the background of about 10 TikToks right now,” Gillis added.
