Shane Gillis hosts ‘SNL’ tonight — Here’s how to watch for free

The standup comedian will return to host “SNL” tonight, Oct. 11, just two months after the third season of his Netflix sitcom “Tires” dropped and on the heels of his appearance in the “Madden” biopic coming to Prime Video in November.

Gillis was infamously hired and then quickly fired from “Saturday Night Live” in 2019 after videos of him using racial slurs resurfaced. Since then, of course, he returned to host the sketch show, and will make his third appearance in four seasons tonight.

Ahead of his third hosting stint tonight, “SNL” released a handful of promos featuring Gillis and cast member Veronika Slowikowska.

Yes! “SNL” is on live tonight, Oct. 11.

Tonight’s episode of “SNL” will air live coast-to-coast at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT, though there may be delays due to college football (as was the case for the season premiere).

If you don’t have cable, you’ll need a live TV streaming service to stream Dakota Johnson on “SNL” for free.

DIRECTV is our favorite service for trying live TV for free. Right now, you can take advantage of a five-day free trial before saving $30 on your first month. We recommend the Choice plan, which includes NBC as part of its 125+ channel options.

You can also watch “SNL” for free with a Peacock Premium free trial (seven days, then $16.99/month). Peacock also has new “SNL” episodes available to stream in full on Sunday mornings.

Actor Shane Gillis will host “SNL” for the third time tonight. As musical guest, Rosalía will also make her third “SNL” appearance.

“Saturday Night Live” is officially back for Season 52, but the show will take two weeks off before returning live on Halloween. Below, find the confirmed episode dates for the rest of Season 52, through the end of 2026.

After the cast grew by five last season, this year’s cast only features two new hires. Here’s who you can expect to see in sketches tonight and throughout the season.
