Make California Post a Preferred Source At least the NFL is willing to admit when they’re wrong.
They were wrong when handing San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk a $14,926 fine for what the league thought was a celebration of him chugging beer during a game.
Juszczyk was actually pretending to chug juice, as “Juice” is his nickname.
The NFL admitted to this mistake on Wednesday, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the league has rescinded the fine handed to Juszczyk for the celebration.
Schefter’s X post wrote, “The league said it was withdrawing the fine ‘because his celebration was simulating drinking a juice box, not a beer….Mr. Juszczyk finally stated that the fine is hypocritical with the amount of Bud Light sponsorships surrounding the NFL.'”
This marks another big win for the 49ers, who are already off to an undefeated 4-0 start this season.
It’s an even bigger win for Juszczyk, who suffered a knee sprain during the 49ers’ win against the Denver Broncos last weekend, which is expected to sideline him for several weeks.
It’s safe to assume that Juszczyk and his wife, Kristin (who is one of the most prominent and influential NFL wives) will find some clever way to celebrate the league’s decision.
