Make Page Six a Preferred Source Could Jack Lowden be the next James Bond?
During a Sunday interview with the Associated Press, Saoirse Ronan, who has been married to Lowden since 2024, was asked about the ongoing rumors surrounding her husband.
Instead of answering directly, the Irish actress simply said, “Well, Gary Oldman thinks he’s James Bond,” referring to Lowden’s “Slow Horses” co-star.
“[That’s] its own thing,” Ronan continued, smiling. “We’re kinda getting on with our life, to be honest. We have plenty of other things to be dealing with.”
“So, yeah, it’s not really a subject that’s coming up in our house, to be honest. The dog needs to be walked, the dinner needs to be made — we’re most focused on that.”
The “Lady Bird” star also noted that her husband is filming “Slow Horses” right now, and “currently having a good time on that.”
Ronan, notably, nominated herself to play a Bond villain in August.
“I want to go dark,” the 32-year-old told Empire. “I said that I wanted to be a Bond villain and I’m dead serious.”
Rumors of Lowden’s possible Bond casting heated up after Oldman claimed his co-star was a frontrunner to play the iconic secret agent.
“It’s been rumored that he’s on the shortlist,” Oldman told Canada’s Global News last month.
“We’re going to find out pretty soon, aren’t we? Because they have picked him. They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet. So my fingers are crossed for Jack.”
Additionally, Oldman revealed a six-person shortlist to play Bond at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 10.
“I heard a rumor that they’ve picked James Bond, but they haven’t announced it yet, which is their prerogative,” the “Darkest Hour” actor said during a panel.
Oldman also joked, however, that he has no credibility when it comes to Bond movies, so he’s unsure why people are taking his opinion as fact.
“Like I got a red phone [to the Bond people],” he quipped.
Lowden, 36, himself has yet to respond to the latest 007 rumors.

Lowden — along with Jacob Elordi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Callum Turner, Paul Mescal and Harris Dickinson — has been rumored as the next leading man.
Last month, Page Six Hollywood exclusively reported that Jack Barton, who played a tiny role in Emma Stone’s 2023 film “Poor Things,” is the favorite to be the new Bond.
Daniel Craig was the latest actor to play James Bond, retiring from the franchise after 2021’s “No Time to Die” after starring in five films.
Prior to Craig, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan all played Bond.
