Jared Leto’s $12 million Air Force compound mystery buyer revealed as tech billionaire

Make Page Six a Preferred Source Jared Leto’s former Air Force compound is now in the hands of tech mogul Palmer Luckey.

The “Morbius” star, 54, sold the unusual 14,649-square-foot Hollywood Hills property in May for $12 million after purchasing it for $5 million in 2015.

Property records show the home was bought by 8935 Lookout Mountain LLC, which lists Fiendlord’s Keep Inc. as its sole member/manager.

Fiendlord’s Keep Inc. was founded in California in January 2016, and state business records list Luckey, 34, as its director, CEO, secretary, CFO, and sole member.

Leto spent years restoring the property, which retains remnants of its peculiar history.

The compound was originally built in the early 1940s as a World War II air defense center before becoming the highly classified Lookout Mountain Air Force Station.

From 1947 to 1969, the facility operated as a secret military film studio, producing and processing more than 6,500 films for the US military and other government agencies.

The complex featured its own film-processing laboratories, editing rooms, and film-storage vaults to handle footage of nuclear weapons tests.

The Air Force decommissioned the station in 1969, and the property was eventually converted into a private residence.

The property now belongs to a tech magnate with his own military connections.

Luckey is best known for founding Oculus VR and creating the Oculus Rift virtual-reality headset.

He sold Oculus to Facebook — now Meta — for roughly $2 billion in 2014 when he was just 21.

Luckey later founded defense technology company Anduril Industries, which has grown into a major defense contractor focused on autonomous drones, sensors and other military technology.

The entrepreneur has also developed a reputation for his interest in military history and hardware; in 2024, he revealed that he owns decommissioned underground missile silos around the country, which he hopes to collect for a future museum project.

Corporate filings cited by the Los Angeles Times showed a decommissioned Atlas missile silo in New York was owned by Black Omen LLC, which was managed by Fiendlord’s Keep Inc.

Luckey is also known for his outspoken political views, referring to himself as a “radical Zionist” in recent years.

He first drew political attention in 2016 when he acknowledged donating $10,000 to Nimble America, a pro-Donald Trump group. He left Facebook in 2017 amid the ensuing controversy.

He continued supporting Trump, donating millions during the 2020 election and backing him again in 2024.

His sister, Ginger Luckey, 32, married former Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, 44, in 2021.

Meanwhile, the home’s former owner, Jared Leto, has faced a fresh wave of scrutiny.

In a 2026 BBC documentary titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret”, 10 women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Some of the women said they were teenagers at the time.

Leto has denied the claims, saying they are “absolutely and categorically false.”

Page Six exclusively reported that Leto lost a major film role amid the allegations.
