Taylor Swift ends Ella Langley’s record-breaking Hot 100 streak

Make Page Six a Preferred Source Taylor Swift ended Ella Langley’s reign on the Billboard Hot 100.

Swift’s single “Patient Zero” replaced Langley’s country hit “Choosin’ Texas” at the No. 1 spot on the list on Monday.

“Choosin Texas,” which spent a historic 24 weeks leading the list, dropped to No. 2 to make room for “Patient Zero,” which came out on Sept. 25.

Swift’s three other songs from “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore” — “Cleveland!”, “Babylon” and “Pink Clouding” — rounded out the top five.

“Patient Zero” is Swift’s 16th song to reach the top spot on the Hot 100 chart.

Her other No. 1 songs include “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Shake It Off,” Bad Blood,” “Blank Space,” Anti-Hero,” “Cruel Summer,” and more.

The pop star, 36, has the third-most No. 1s in Hot 100s history, after The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (19).

Langley, meanwhile, broke through on the Billboard Hot 100s list when her viral “Choosin’ Texas” single reached the top spot in February — and stayed there for the next 24 weeks.

Thus, the song surpassed Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which spent 22 weeks atop the chart.

After the historic achievement, Langley, 27, spoke out, gushing that she was speechless and couldn’t “find the words to help explain what’s going on in my brain today.”

“Thank you so much. Thank you for loving this song. For listening to it. I don’t even know what to say at this point,” she told her followers in a Sept. 22 Instagram video.

Days later, at her concert in Columbus, Ohio, Langley hit back at her haters for “picking on” her after she beat Carey’s record.

“I don’t think I’ve ever had more opinions on myself in my life than I have in this last year,” she told the crowd, noting she’s been criticized for so many things including “the way I look, the way I speak, the way I dress.”

Langley admitted that she doesn’t know if she’s “strong enough” to handle the public scrutiny, before pointing out that “the girl that they’re kind of picking on is the girl that got me where I’m sitting here today.”

“So I’m going to tell you right now. I am proud of that girl that everybody seems to be picking on all the time,” she concluded.
