jets rewind The four things we learned from Jets’ Week 4 loss: It’s about to get real noisy for Aaron Glenn By Brian Costello Published Oct. 5, 2026, 11:21 a.m. ET New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn looks on during the first quarter of a game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago, Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. Getty Images CHICAGO — The Jets dropped their third straight game on Sunday, losing 23-12 to the Bears, to fall to 1-3 this season. Here are some thoughts and observations from the game:
1. Aaron Glenn likes to refer to the “outside noise.” It’s about to get really noisy. A story of this season was always going to be a referendum on Glenn and whether he should remain as head coach in 2027. The early results have not been good for Glenn. Yes, they had two competitive losses against the Packers and Lions, but here’s a funny thing about losses — no one remembers how competitive you were in those games in a few months. They’re just losses.

Glenn is 4-17 as Jets coach and Sunday was a complete no-show by his team. I have written before that I believe Glenn should get all 17 games this season and owner Woody Johnson should not make any moves in-season. I still believe that and I still believe Johnson is not going to make a rash decision like he did in 2024 with Robert Saleh. However, Glenn needs to start winning or his job status is going to overshadow everything and if he thinks the outside noise has been loud, he has not seen anything yet.
The Browns come to town next week at 3-1 but they are still a flawed team. I don’t love to call any games a “must win” but this feels like a huge game for Glenn and the 2026 Jets. If they lose to Cleveland and are 1-4, now we’re really starting Mock Draft Season. If they can win this one, it keeps hope alive that the Jets can keep this season interesting into November.
