With Danny and Evan TV exclusive Rick Devens reacts to lack of support from ‘Big Brother’ legends after Season 28 win By Eric Todisco Published Oct. 2, 2026, 2:19 p.m. ET Rick Devens doesn’t blame the former “Big Brother” players who actively rooted against him because he was on “Survivor” first.
“Good for them,” the Season 28 winner exclusively told Page Six on Friday. “Before all this happened… I know ‘BB’ players have come on ‘Survivor,’ but I wouldn’t want them winning a ‘Survivor’ game. That makes them look like they’re better than we are.”
“So, I understand where they’re coming from,” Devens, 42, added.
But the former morning news anchor pointed out that there’s now been three “Survivor” players who have had great success on “Big Brother.”
“Dee [Valladares] and I both did pretty well. Cirie [Fields] did pretty good too,” he said, joking, “But hopefully now that I’m one of them, they will they will cradle me in their arms and i will enjoy being cradle there.”
The reality star gushed that he’s “so proud” to be a part of the “Big Brother” family following his $810,000 victory on Thursday.
“I cannot believe i’m a ‘BB’ winner,” he shared. “I still have not wrapped my mind around that.”
While Season 28 was airing, Seasons 3 and 7 alum Danielle Reyes exclusively told Page Six that she was rooting against Devens and Valladares, 29, because of their “Survivor” ties.
“I’m a little territorial, because we have this inner frenemy with ‘Survivor’ people,” she said. “I don’t care who you are, but if you’re ‘Big Brother’ alumni, we do not want them to win, because that’s our kingdom.”
“We have this inner struggle, like what’s the harder show? What’s the most difficult: ‘Survivor’ or ‘Big Brother?'” Reyes, 54, added.
Britney Haynes from Seasons 12 and 14 agreed with Reyes, noting there’s “somewhat of a rivalry” between the players from the two CBS reality series.
“Winning both shows, that is something that has never been done,” Haynes, 39, continued. “So of course there’s that piece of you that wants the ‘Big Brother’ person to be the first one to do it.”
Devens became the first “Survivor” player to win “Big Brother,” after evicting his close ally Drew Campbell in third place and securing six of the seven jury votes over Taylor Brown in the final two. Devens also won the America’s Favorite Houseguest prize (worth $50,000).

In his interview with Page Six, Devens clapped back at the jury and Brown for accusing him of having an unfair advantage in the game due to being one of the “Icons” with Valladares and Angela Murray.
“It’s like, you guys outnumber us 14 to three. We were safe the first week. There’s 11 weeks after that. You could have gotten us out basically any time that you were able to get power,” Devens said.
“But we took advantage of the situation and we found people who wanted to work with us and were able to put together a majority alliance,” he added.
Devens also told us that after they worked against each other on “Survivor 50,” he and Valladares teamed up in the “Big Brother” house because they “wanted to rep” for their original show.
“She’s great to work with. She’s got this killer instinct. Two very different play styles that I think really played off each other, and Angela brought in a whole different perspective,” Devens said.
“They were a ton of fun to work,” he added. “We made up less than 20 percent of the house and I’m surprised they weren’t coming for us harder than they were.”
