Make Page Six a Preferred Source 5 Celine Dion brought a piece of her late husband to her Paris residency. Samir Hussein/WireImage Two weeks after opening her Paris residency, Celine Dion gave a glimpse at her opening night.
The musical icon shared a video on Instagram Thursday, compiling “highlights,” including a behind-the-scenes look at the very first performance.
Wearing an incredible black Dior dress which was actually one of the two looks she wore to open her concert series on September 12, Dion added a massive dose of sparkle with a Boucheron diamond pendant necklace.
The singer got emotional as she shared in the video, “This is a Boucheron necklace. And it’s kind of incredible because my husband always wore Boucheron perfume. It’s something that makes me feel like René is still here.”
Continuing, “It’s never been worn. It’s unique. Just like René.”
The necklace is named “The Address,” and is inspired by an archival Boucheron piece whose shape was modeled after the octagonal Place Vendôme in Paris.
The design boasts a structured collar shape crafted of round and emerald-cut diamonds, folding like a ribbon would as it gives way to a giant octagonal pendant.
A single black lacquer line runs throughout to offer contrast to the bright white stones.
The pendant is made up on concentric octagons of emerald and round-cut diamonds with a spectacular 10.01 carat emerald-cut diamond “at its heart,” according to a press release from the brand.
Unveiled in January, the necklace took 1,107 hours of labor to create.
Dion first met her late husband, René Angélil, when she was 12 years old. They began dating when she was 19. After a long battle with throat cancer, Angélil died in January 2016 at the age of 73.
The singer has battled her own illness for the past five years, officially being diagnosed with stiff person in 2022.
As such, her Paris residency has been quite the triumphant return — and a parade of high-fashion looks with high-power bling.
