Though Giants head coach John Harbaugh shared post-game optimism that Dart avoided a “devastating outcome,” further testing revealed the injury is more significant than it initially appeared and the second-year quarterback may need to undergo season-ending surgery.
Dart, who was believed to have suffered a sprained MCL after being hit by Byron Young and Josiah Stewart in the first quarter of Monday’s loss, limped off the field, then later attempted to return to the game before being officially ruled out in the third quarter.
