One wrong click could cost you thousands — Here’s how to protect yourself

Add The New York Post on Google McAfee research found Americans receive an average of 14 scam messages every day.

That’s 14 more times than we should be receiving such messages. Then there’s the issue of navigating to a website only to be met with a suspicious pop-up. Or a little QR code in your favorite coffee shop that you thought would take you to a secure page. Spoiler alert, it did not. In fact, McAfee found that 68% of consumers recently scanned a QR code and 18% landed on a suspicious or unsafe page.

Then there’s the fact that one in three Americans has been scammed out of an average of $1,160. That’s a lot of bad numbers.

McAfee helps prevent all of them by not just offering award-winning antivirus protection but also scam protection to keep scammers in check.

McAfee offers three plans, including Essential, McAfee+ Advanced and McAfee+ Ultimate.

Advanced steps things up with features like personal information removal, credit monitoring and up to $1 million in identity theft coverage. Ultimate goes even further, bumping coverage up to $2 million and adding three-bureau credit monitoring with daily updates, credit lock, investment and 401(k) monitoring, plus ransomware coverage.

Plus, if you sign up for a one-year plan now, you can save up to $110, depending on which plan you choose. The brand says the service can also protect everything from smartphones to laptops.

If you’ve been on the hunt for a great antivirus and scam protection service, it doesn’t get better than McAfee, and it’s also super reasonable right now, with its discounted plans currently on sale.
