The prolific stand-up comedian and former Saturday Night Live writer must have been channeling his time at 8H because he delivered a mini stand-up set at the 2026 Emmy Awards that would’ve felt right at home on Weekend Update.
During the Emmys, Mulaney was on hand to present the award for Best Lead Actor in a Drama, an honor that went to The Pitt’s Noah Wyle. As to be expected, Mulaney came prepared, joking that this specific award was just “for the guys,” (just men being men) before noting that these nominees weren’t soft like “the dad on Bluey.”
I can’t believe Poor Bandit was catching strays at the Emmys. But, as it turned out, Bandit Heeler wasn’t the only one catching strays.
Near the end of Mulaney’s monologue, he mentioned DJ Khaled, but his joke was censored. What exactly did Mulaney say? You don’t need to be an expert lip reader to put two and two together.
“I believe it was DJ Khaled that said ‘Real men don’t go down on their wives,'” Mulaney said as the audience erupted in laughter. “But, but…these nominees know that is BS. They KNOW there’s often less pressure on them if they do that first.”
The Emmys are now airing on NBC and Peacock.
