Add The New York Post on Google PETA protesters crashed a top Fashion Week show in Manhattan on Sunday — prompting the event’s CEO to tackle them in a wild caught-on-video scene that played out in front of an A-list crowd.
At least two PETA demonstrators stormed the runway at the COS Spring 2027 Fashion Week event, waving signs and chanting about banning wool from the industry as an audience including actress Michelle Williams looked on.
But the protesters met their match in Fashion Week boss Steven Kolb — CEO of event organizer Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) — who snatched their signs and backed them into a corner.
“We’re not doing this,” Kolb appeared to say as he advanced on one of the rogues, PETA campaigner Mason Melito.
Kolb then appeared to put his hands around Melito and cover his mouth to stop the chanting, before Melito was hauled out by staff security.
The CFDA chief also was filmed grabbing another protester as she chanted about the need to “Protect sheep!”
He pulled her to the ground while covering her mouth to stop her from yelling and wrapped a leg around her and restraining her by the wrists.
The protester eventually made it to her feet and strode back down the runway yelling, “Please take sheep off the runway!” as she left, with the event then proceeding as scheduled.
But the PETA protestors went straight to a local police precinct to report the incidents and told The Post they were considering trying to file charges against the CFDA.
“She felt like she was being suffocated,” Melito said of his colleague. “She’s using her body to speak up for the sheep that have no say whatsoever. She is now at urgent care.
“We’re trying to tell people that there’s no need to wear animals or anything that comes from animals nowadays. Animal skin is something that just belongs to the animal,” he said.
“The violence that was shown to PETA supporters is honestly nothing compared to what these sheep go through.”
Melito was referring to PETA’s claims that COS — a higher-end H&M offshoot — has used wool from farms with allegations of abuse against its sheep.
Neither H&M nor the CFDA responded to request for comment.
Kolb did not appear to have been arrested after the incident.
