Add Page Six on Google “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson quietly filed for divorce from his wife, Catherine, a full eight months before it was revealed that they were parting ways after 20 years of marriage.
According to records obtained by Page Six, the actor filed the paperwork in Williamson County, Tennessee, in December 2025.
Ritchson and Catherine, however, waited to announce their split until Saturday, writing via Instagram, “After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way.”
“We grew up together,” the statement read. “We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world.”
The exes shared that they still have “love and respect” for each other and “nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us.”
“The best gift we can give one another — and our boys — right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be,” they continued, referring to their kids, Calem, Edan and Amory.
Additionally, Ritchson, 43, and Catherine stated they are giving “each other room to grow into the people [they] are becoming,” requesting “privacy and compassion,” especially for their kids.
The estranged couple tied the knot in May 2006 after meeting while doing ballet in high school, the “Fast X” star said during a 2022 “Today” interview.
At the time, Ritchson gushed over how Catherine would bring him cookies.

In 2021, the duo also celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary with sweet throwback photos from their wedding shared via Instagram.
“15 years ago today two kids got married,” Ritchson wrote in a heartwarming tribute.
“They had no idea what splendid and terrible things lie ahead of them when they made that vow to remain each other’s partner in life, come what may,” he continued.
“Despite the precarious highs and the suffocating lows, they’re still holding hands,” he concluded.
The duo, however, didn’t publicly acknowledge their 20th wedding anniversary in May.
