The latest outrage: It turns out she sprang Nayshawn Wilkinson over prosecutors’ objections just last month, bare weeks before he allegedly shot another man near the West Indian Day parade route.
In that earlier case, Wilkinson faced charges including attempted murder over two shots fired at a 15-year-old victim who got hit in the foot, requiring surgery.
Prosecutors pleaded with her to keep the perp behind bars, but she let him walk on a puny $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond — the latter figure meaning he’d personally have to put up just $1,000.
On Wednesday, another judge did it right, setting Wilkinson’s bail at $500,000 in the new case.
This was no outlier of Robinson’s injustice: Last month, we noted how she turned loose two other perps accused of attempted murder on no bail at all.
Indeed, she’s never — not even once — granted prosecutors’ requests for bail or remand.
Of 13 arraignments The Post reviewed, eight resulted in no bail whatsoever for the defendants, and low bail for the other five.
A judge who repeatedly frees the worst of the worst perps certainly stands out as the worst of the worst bench-warmers, but the local corrupt, inbred judge-picking system too often produces dangerously unqualified jurists like Robinson, the niece of former Assemblyman Nick Perry.
NYPD data for this year show that, through August, cops hauled in 263 bad guys who’d been arrested three or more times for felony assault.
That’s a three-fold jump over the same period in 2018.
The state criminal-justice “reforms” (like cashless bail) passed in 2019 explain much of that spike.
But it’s surely worsened by judges like Wilkinson, who refuse to lock up dangerous thugs even when the law permits it — guaranteeing that the city sees the same violent thugs terrorizing law-abiding citizens over and over again.
Bad enough to let shoplifters and other low-level offenders get off scot-free, but attempted murderers?
Lefties claim the system is “racist” if it remands “too many” black or Hispanic perps, but that ignores the simple fact that most crime victims are the same minorities.
Even in New York’s insanely pro-criminal political climate, Robinson’s record should be intolerable.
Court-system administrators need to finally give her the heave-ho — before we wind up writing about her again, this time with an even more horrid story of avoidable bloodshed.
