Puka Nacua expected to play week 1 against 49ers

Add The California Post on Google A week after the Los Angeles Rams roster received the good news that Aaron Donald would be coming out of retirement, they got even more good news.

After the conclusion of Sunday’s practice, head coach Sean McVay told Michael Duarte of The Post that wide receiver Puka Nacua is expected to play in their Week 1 opener in Australia against the San Francisco 49ers.

“Yeah, absolutely, that’s what I’ve heard. I haven’t heard anything different,” McVay said after being asked if he expects Nacua to play.

Nacua’s availability for Friday’s opener has been up in the air throughout the offseason, as he’s waiting to see if he’s facing potential disciplinary action from the league under its personal conduct policy for previous-off-the field behavior that includes an ongoing legal situation, after he was accused of biting Madison Atiabi and making an antisemitic remark.

In July, a photo was released showing the severity of the bite mark on Atiabi’s shoulder.

In April, Nacua checked himself into rehab this past and told reporters in July, that this offseason has been a “moment for me to learn.”

With Nacua expected to be a full-go this week, the Rams offense can breathe a sigh of relief as they will get last season’s reception leader [129], who finished second in the NFL for yards [1,715].
