A preview for the upcoming mega-series from HBO based on J.K. Rowling's books and the movie franchise dropped back in March, and hype has been deafening ever since the show was first announced.

It didn't take long after the preview was released for reactions to roll in on social media. Check out some of the reactions below.
Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic. Is this series necessary? Absolutely not. Will I still watch it? Without a second of hesitation.
The biggest positive is that the series will be able to go much deeper than the movie, which were all great. The pivot to darkness in the third book and movie is what made Rowling's work ascend into rarefied air.
The biggest downside is that expectations are through the roof, and anything less than excellence will be a massive disappointment.
