1. Braxton Berrios was signed as a kick returner and a backup wide receiver. The season-ending knee injury to Calvin Austin III strengthened Berrios’ chances of making the roster, but what he did Friday night did not help. He hauled in a 15-yard pass in the first half but then lost the ball on a fumble.

He got the chance late in the first quarter. Sisi got to the second level and made a textbook block on Kiko, shoving him backward to clear a lane for Tyrone Tracy Jr.’s 6-yard touchdown run.
3. The more you can do is what is needed for a fringe player intent on making the team. LB Zaire Barnes has a shot with the Giants for his ability on special teams.
He helped himself early in the second quarter with a leaping interception of Jets rookie QB Cade Klubnik. Barnes stepped in front of TE Jelani Woods to come away with the turnover. Barnes, who turns 27 on Sept. 3, played in 11 games for the Giants last season.
