Takeaways from the Jets’ preseason finale loss to the Giants

Add The New York Post on Google Three takeaways from the Jets’ 23-6 loss to the Giants on Friday night at MetLife Stadium.

1. The Jets suffered several injuries Friday night, but the only one to a player expected to be a major contributor was the foot injury suffered by edge rusher Joseph Ossai.

The Jets came out of training camp pretty healthy. Breece Hall (groin) and Kenyon Sadiq (setback from hernia surgery) were the most significant injuries, but both players are expected back.

Marcelino McCrary-Ball picked off Giants backup quarterback Jameis Winston on Friday night.

The Jets also had a fumble recovery in the game. They had zero interceptions and just four takeaways all of last season.

3. Nate Lynn registered another sack Friday night. The Jets picked up the edge rusher 10 days ago, and he had two sacks in the preseason game with the Steelers last week before adding another against the Giants.

He probably arrived too late to compete for a roster spot, but he should be signed to the practice squad.
