Add The California Post on Google Trent McDuffie has yet to play in a regular-season game for the Los Angeles Rams, but he is already making an impact across the City of Angels.
On Thursday, the Rams and McDuffie announced the launch of his Inglewood Flag Football League during his backpack drive and football camp, which took place at Caroline Coleman Stadium in Inglewood.

IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect The participants in the flag football league will consist of 240 students, who will be expected to wear team jerseys. NFL.com reported that per a release from the team, the Rams are expected to fund equipment that will include footballs and flags for the participants.
“The first sport I played when I was five years old was flag football. When I was a kid, I was out here doing these same camps,” McDuffie said in a statement. “A lot of these kids will grow up together, play football together, be in high school together. You create a lot of bonds and a lot of memories when you’re out here.”
He continued, “Being able to come back to Inglewood and be an inspiration to some of these kids, have them talk to me and ask me questions, is all I want to do. This is something that I developed the love to do, to be out in the community. I think sports are a way everybody can come together and do something bigger than themselves.”
For McDuffie, a native of Southern California, who grew up playing high school football at Servite and St. John Bosco, this is the first charity act he has performed with the Rams since he was traded by the Kansas City Chiefs over the offseason.
The flag football league is McDuffie’s first charity effort with the Rams. Kirby Lee-Imagn Images While playing with the Chiefs, McDuffie was actively involved in giving back to the community, as he was known for paying visits to local schools where he would donate supplies.
Aside from giving back to the community, McDuffie is set to make his Rams debut in the near future, when the team opens the season against the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.
