Brian Austin Green couldn’t walk or talk during mysterious neurological health crisis

Add Page Six on Google Brian Austin Green lost the ability to walk and talk when he suffered an undiagnosed health crisis.

“I ended up with this neurological thing, and it was, like, stroke-like symptoms,” the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum explained on Wednesday’s episode of the “Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson” podcast.

Green said he battled the disorder “like 10, 12 years ago,” when he “was 39, 40” years old and still married to Megan Fox.

“It was never completely diagnosed.. I had internal inflammation, so from diet,” the 53-year-old actor shared. “And then, they think, just emotional stress, not handling things well.”

Green said it took four and half years before he recovered from the health battle, during which he “had to learn how to walk [and] talk again.”

“I had to learn how to sort of do everything again,” he said, adding, “I couldn’t read. I couldn’t write. Who I was, essentially, was no more. My brain and my body completely disconnected.”

The father of five admitted he was terrified of losing his talents, including acting, because of how “bad” his health symptoms were, and considered “reinventing himself.”

But once Green “started improving,” he began therapy sessions and realized that “the emotions that I have been living with since I was a kid were a big factor in what was going on.”

“I genuinely knew I was just sort of living in a state of constant fight or flight,” he explained, noting that therapy taught him to be more “focused on recovering and finding a better version of me.”

Green credited his therapist, a woman from Ukraine, for giving him “strict and specific” advice that helped him express his emotions in conversations.

“I’d come back to her, and I’d go, ‘Oh my God, I did exactly what you told me to do. I was terrified of doing it, and it absolutely worked, and I had an amazing conversation,'” Green said.

Green was married to Fox, 40, from 2010 to 2021, including during the time that he was sick.

Page Six previously exclusively reported that the “Transformers” star dumped Green in 2015 when he was seriously ill and barely able to move — only to take him back and dump him all over again in 2020.

Green said on his podcast, “With Brian Austin Green,” in May 2020 that they split for good after Fox returned from shooting a movie abroad and told him she realized that she “liked [herself] better” while she was alone on the shoot.

The actor has struggled with health issues over the years. In 2022, he was bedridden for six weeks with ulcerative colitis.

According to the Mayo Clinic, ulcerative colitis causes inflammation and ulcers in your digestive tract and while symptoms can range in severity, they include diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramping, rectal pain and bleeding and weight loss.
