US military blows up alleged cartel vessel with narco-terrorists heading for the West Coast

Add The California Post on Google The US military has wiped out an alleged drug-smuggling boat in the eastern Pacific that sent two traffickers to the depths of the ocean.

Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere carried out the lethal strike on a vessel operating along a known drug route under the direction of Commander General Francis L. Donovan Sunday.

“Confirmed intelligence revealed the vessel’s active involvement in narco-trafficking. The operation killed two narco-terrorists,” the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced on X.

“When I ordered the establishment of Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere, it was precisely for this purpose: to accelerate, synchronize, and execute lethal actions against these destabilizing narco-terrorist networks,” General Donovan said.

“We are committed to imposing total systemic friction on narco-terrorists — disrupting their operations, dismantling their leadership, and eliminating cartel terror across the region,” General Donovan added on.

This comes after nearly a yearlong effort by President Donald Trump’s administration to stop narco-terrorists, which has seen over 60 military strikes carried out against suspected drug ships in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific, leaving more than 210 people dead, according to ABC7.

SOUTHCOM also previously wiped out a suspected narco-boat in the Caribbean under Donovan back in June 21, which killed two people.

The administration’s high-seas attack began in September 2025 when Trump announced a strike targeting a suspected drug boat from Venezuela that killed all 11 people on board.

“Please let this serve as notice to anybody even thinking about bringing drugs into the United States of America. BEWARE! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!!!!!!!!!” the president said on Truth Social then.
