A SigAlert was issued at 3:50 a.m. for the closure related to the initial disturbance call near Grand Avenue.

Drivers should expect delays up to one hour between Grand Ave and Sunflower Ave, with traffic backed up to CA-39/Azusa Ave.

California Highway Police officers responded to a disturbance call west of Grand Avenue around 3 a.m. and spotted a vehicle driving erratically, according to KTLA. The driver of the white utility vehicle was wanted for a possible assault on a tow truck driver on the eastbound 210 Freeway near Grand Avenue.

Officers chased the vehicle after it failed to yield and exited the freeway to continue southbound on South Citrus Avenue.

Officers reached a Fuel Club gas station at 110 Arrow Highway in Covina, where the shooting occurred.

Video footage from the scene showed several shell casings on the ground. Law enforcement discovered a gun, a magazine, and other bullet casings, according to KNN.

No officers were injured. The utility vehicle driver did sustain injuries, and medical personnel transported the suspect to a local hospital.

KTLA traffic reporter Ginger Chan recommended drivers take the 10 Freeway instead of the 210.

It’s unclear when the freeway lanes will reopen.
