Turai Avraham Presler served in the Israel Defense Forces. Avraham served with the Infantry. Avraham was 20 years old.

What Happened

בן רגינה ויוסף, נולד ביום י"ב בשבט תרפ"ח (3.2.1928) בעיר בראונשווייג, גרמניה. הגיע עם הוריו לארץ בשנת 1936 באונייה "גלילה" והמשפחה השתכנה בתל-אביב. אברהם סיים את בית- הספר היסודי אך בגלל מצבם הקשה של הוריו נאלץ לעבוד כשוליה בבית-מלאכה למכונות-חשמל. במשך הזמן התמחה במקצוע החשמל וגם המשיך את לימודיו בבית-ספר-ערב מקצועי "מונטיפיורי". משאת-נפשו היתה להתקבל לטכניון וללמוד הנדסה. היה שקט מטבעו ואוהב שלום. חיבב מוסיקה והירבה בקריאת ספרים. חבר ה"הגנה" מגיל צעיר וכל תפקיד שהוטל עליו מילא במסירות ובדייקנות. עם פרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התייצב לשורות חטיבת "אלכסנדרוני" והשתתף בקרבות להדיפת ההתקפות הערביות על היישובים היהודיים בסביבות כפר סבא. ביום ד' באייר תש"ח (13.5.1948) יצא עם יחידתו למבצע "מדינה" לכיבוש כפר סבא הערבית ובקרב זה נפל. מקום-קבורתו לא נודע. מצבה לזכרו הוקמה בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים. החלל הינו מקל''ן- חלל שמקום קבורתו לא נודע.
