Turai Yosef Rotmansh served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yosef served with the Artillery Corps.

What Happened

בן צירל ויצחק דוד, נולד בשנת תר"ץ (1930) בעיר בנדין, פולין. הוא חווה על בשרו את מוראות מלחמת-העולם השנייה שבה איבד את רוב בני משפחתו. נותר רק אח אחד שהתגורר בגרמניה. יוסף עלה ארצה ב"עלייה ב'", וכשמלאו לו שמונה-עשרה שנים התגייס לצה"ל לחיל-התותחנים. יוסף הוצב באזור רמת הכובש, שם לא שככו הקרבות בין צה"ל לבין הצבא העיראקי. ביום ב' בטבת תש"ט (3.1.1949) נפל בקרב ליד הכפר טירה והובא למנוחת- עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
