Samal Rishon Rotem Adam served in the Israel Defense Forces. Rotem served with the Givati Brigade. Rotem was 21 years old.
בנם של דרורה ועובדיה. נולד ביום י"ח בניסן תשמ"ג (1.4.1983) בבני ברק. אח לערן, תומר ומור. התגורר בראשון לציון ולמד בתיכון" מקיף ח'" בעירו. רותם התגייס לצה"ל ב-18.11.2001, ושירת כלוחם חי"ר וכמפקד כיתה בחטיבת "גבעתי". בתפקידו האחרון שימש סמל מחלקה בגדוד "צבר" בחטיבת "גבעתי". ביום כ"ג באייר תשס"ד (14.5.2004) נפל סמל-ראשון רותם אדם בקרב בציר פילדלפי ברפיח, מירי צלף. בן עשרים ואחת היה בנפלו. הוא הובא למנוחת עולמים בבית העלמין הצבאי בחולון. הותיר אחריו זוג הורים – עובדיה ודרורה, אח גדול – ערן ושני אחים צעירים ממנו – תומר ומור. משפחתו חקקה על מצבתו את הפסוק משיר השירים: "מראהו כלבנון בחור כארזים / חִכו ממתקים וכֻּלו מחמדים".
