Turai Zion Hamami served in the Israel Defense Forces. Zion served with the Armored Corps.
בן לאה וסעדיה, נולד בשנת 1928 בעיר-הנמל עדן. עד גיל 12 למד בבית-ספר יסודי. בשל מצוקת הוריו הפסיק ללמוד ויצא לעבוד בסבלות ואת שכרו מסר להם. משאת-נפשו היתה לחיות עם הוריו חיי-כבוד בארץ-ישראל. בשנת 1943 נתמלאה ראשית שאיפתו כשעלה ארצה כחלוץ המשפחה. כיוון שנעדר הכשרה מקצועית ויכולת עבודה קשה, יצא עם חברו למכור פלפל וגלידה ברחובות תל-אביב ואת מרבית שכרו היה שולח להוריו. בראשית מלחמת-העצמאות התייצב לשירות העם, היה משוייך לחיל הרגלים והשריון, שירת בחטיבת "גבעתי" ונשלח להגנת כפר אוריה. בדרכו להביא תחמושת לעמדות נפגע ונפל, ביום כ"ט בטבת תש"ח (11.1.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק. הוריו הגיעו ארצה לאחר נפילתו.
