Turai Naftali Yafe served in the Israel Defense Forces. Naftali served with the Armored Corps. Naftali served in the War of Independence. Naftali was 23 years old.
בן אסתר ודויד-ישראל, נולד ביום י"ח בשבט תרפ"ד (24.1.1924) בעיירה צ'ודק שבחבל גליציה, פולין. הוא סיים בית-ספר עממי והיה חבר בתנועת "החלוץ". עם כיבוש המקום על-ידי הגרמנים נלקח למחנה-הסגר ומשם הועבר למחנה-השמדה אולם ברגע האחרון הצליח לברוח והצטרף אל הפרטיזנים הרוסים. בשעת הקמת הצבא הפולני על אדמת רוסיה לאחר הסכם סטאלין- שיקורסקי, בפיקודו של גנרל אנדרס, עשה הרבה למען הצלת בחורים יהודים, שהגיעו בזכות פעולתו זו לארץ עוד לפני עלייתו הוא. תורו שלו לעלייה הגיע רק בשנה השנייה לשחרורו, בשנת 1947. היה בין מעפילי הספינה "כ"ג יורדי הסירה" ומעצורי קפריסין. עם הגיעו לארץ התגייס לצה"ל ושירת בחטיבת "גבעתי". נפתלי נפל בעמדה, בשכונת גרין בחולון, בשעה שחש להגיש עזרה רפואית לחבר אצ"ל פצוע, ביום ג' בשבט תש"ח (14.1.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
