Turai Efraim Yaakobi served in the Israel Defense Forces. Efraim served with the Infantry. Efraim was 20 years old.

What Happened

בן מזל ושמעון, נולד ביום ט' בסיוון תרפ"ז (9.6.1927) בעיר אורמיה, חבל אזרביג'אן, איראן. עלה לארץ בשנת 1936. בימי מלחמת-העצמאות השתתף כחבר אצ"ל בכמה פעולות-מגן בירושלים. פעם אמר לחברו: "אשמח מאוד למות אם רק אדע שבזה אני מביא דרור לאומה". ביום כ"ט באדר ב' תש"ח (9.4.1948) נפל בקרב לכיבוש כפר הפורעים דיר-יאסין. נקבר בבית- הקברות בסנהדריה בירושלים. ביום י"ח בחשוון תשי"ג (6.11.1952) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית- הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים.
