Rav Turai Zion Adika served in the Israel Defense Forces. Zion served with the General Service Corps. Zion served in the War of Attrition. Zion was 17 years old.

What Happened

בן רחמים וחנה. נולד ביום ג' בכסלו תשי"ב (2.12.1951) בירושלים. למד בבית-הספר היסודי "ענף-חיים" שבעיר והיה חבר במועדון השכונה. כאשר סיים את לימודיו היסודיים למד מכונאות-רכב בבית-הספר התיכון המקצועי "אורט" לחניכים. עד ליום גיוסו עבד במוסך "הטורים" בירושלים. הוא היה חביב וטוב-לב, מקובל על חבריו ומוכן לשתף פעולה ואהב את ארצו אהבה עמוקה. אמנם חייו היו קצרים אך היו עשירים ומלאים חוויות, לבטים וציפיה לעתיד טוב יותר. לא היה קץ לאהבתו את משפחתו. תמיד היו עיניו שומרות את אמו, שהייתה שקועה במלאכת-הבית ותמיד היה מפציר בה שתנוח מעט. היה לו לב של בן רחום ודואג. בשמחה וברצון נתן את משכורתו הראשונה להורים כדי לסייע בפרנסת הבית. הוא עזר ככל יכולתו גם לחבריו. הוא ציפה בקוצר רוח למועד-גיוסו לצה"ל מתוך אהבה לצבא ומתוך רצון לתרום את חלקו. ציון גויס לצה"ל בנובמבר 1969, אלא שלא הספיק לשרת הרבה - פחות מחודש ימים. ביום י"א בכסלו תש"ל (21.11.1969), נפל בעת מילוי תפקידו. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים.
