בן גניה ויוסף, נולד בשנת 1932 בפולין. בשנת 1947 עלה ארצה והתחנך במסגרת חברת-נוער בקיבוץ גינוסר. בפרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התנדב מאיר לפלמ"ח אך הוצב בגדוד 73 של חטיבה 7 המשוריינת שהיתה בהקמה, ועימה השתתף במבצע "בן-נון ב'", שמטרתו היתה לפרוץ את הדרך לירושלים. מאיר היה בכוח שפרץ לחצר משטרת לטרון, אך נתקל באש אויב כבדה ונאלץ לסגת. בקרב זה נפל, ביום כ"א באייר תש"ח (30.5.1948). ביום כ"ה בחשוון תש"י (17.11.1949) הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית- הקברות הצבאי בהר-הרצל בירושלים.
