Samal Liora Steshover served in the Israel Defense Forces. Liora served with the Givati Brigade. Liora was 20 years old.
בת ליאון והלה. נולדה ביום ב' בשבט תשי"ז (4.1.1957) בגבעתיים. למדה בבית-הספר היסודי ע"ש א.ד. גורדון ובבית-הספר התיכון 'קלעי' שבגבעתיים. בבית-הספר שקדה ליאורה על לימודיה, אך ידעה לחלק ממרצה גם לתלמידים שנזקקו לעזרתה. ליאורה היתה בולטת בכל פעילות, בנכונותה לתרום לכלל. רגישותה, שמחת- החיים שבה וכושר-התמדתה היו מקור-הנאה לכל הסובבים אותה. ביום 10.9.1975 גויסה ליאורה לצה"ל ועשתה את עיקר-שירותה ביחידת נחט"מ. משימתה של יחידה זו היא הטיפול בנוער שוליים - למטרה זו הקדישה את כל מרצה ועשתה את מלאכתה בנאמנות ובמסירות. ביום כ"ב בסיון תשל"ז (8.6.1977) נפלה ליאורה בעת שירותה. הובאה למנוחת-עולמים בבית-העלמין הצבאי בקרית-שאול. השאירה אחריה אב, אם ואח. במכתב-תנחומים למשפחה השכולה ציין מפקד-יחידתה את תרומתה לטיפוח נוער השוליים ואת יחסה החם והלבבי לאנשי יחידתה. משפחתה תרמה ספריית-תקליטים וציוד-השמעה להנצחת שמה בבית-הספר שלמדה בו - 'א.ד. גורדון' בגבעתיים.
