Turai Arie Dichter served in the Israel Defense Forces. Arie served with the Armored Corps. Arie served in the War of Independence. Arie was 35 years old.
בן רחל ומשה, נולד ביום ב' בטבת תרע"ג (12.12.1912) ברומניה. הוא סיים בית-ספר תיכון ושאף לעלות לארץ-ישראל. בשנת 1933 הצליח להגשים את שאיפתו ולעלות לארץ. כאן עבד בבניין, אך את רוב שנותיו נתן ל"הגנה", בה עלה בסוף, בצה"ל, לדרגת מפקד מחלקה. בשנת 1936 היה בגליל, בפלוגת וינגייט. שירת גם בנוטרות. היה מעורה בארץ ובקי בכל גלילותיה. אחד מידידיו העיד עליו: "העמק והגליל היו חלק מחייו". בשנת 1940 התגייס לצבא הבריטי והועבר, בבוא המועד, לבריגדה היהודית. גילה פעילות בהעברת פליטים לארץ. אריה השתתף בקרבות מתחילת מלחמת-העצמאות. בשעת שחרור צפת נפצע בידו. שירת בחטיבה 7, וביום ב' בסיוון תש"ח (9.6.1948) נפל במשלט ליד הכפר הערבי בית-סוסין, בקרבת לטרון, בשעת התקפת-אויב קשה על עמדתו. הובא לקבורה בנען. ביום ב' בסיוון תש"י (18.5.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בחיפה.
