Turai Ernest Livergal served in the Israel Defense Forces. Ernest served with the Engineering corps. Ernest served in the War of Independence. Ernest was 34 years old.
בן דורה וזליג (זיגמונד), נולד ביום ז' בשבט תרע"ד (3.2.1914) בעיר קלגנפורט, אוסטריה. בעיר זו, בעלת קהילה יהודית קטנה, גדל, סיים את בית-הספר היסודי והתחיל לעבוד בפקידות עד השתלטות הנאצים על אוסטריה. ארנסט עלה לארץ בשנת 1938 והתחיל את חייו מחדש כפועל בפרדס. אחר-כך היה עוזר בחנות, עבד כמלצר ולבסוף נעשה שותף בבית-קפה בחיפה. ארנסט היה חבר ותיק ב"הגנה". בפרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות התגייס לחטיבה 7 ובשורותיה לחם בגיזרת לטרון. בהיותו בשמירה נורה על-ידי צלף ערבי ונהרג ביום כ"ט באייר תש"ח (7.6.1948) שעות מספר לפני התחלת ההפוגה. נקבר בנען. ביום ב' בסיוון תש"י (18.5.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בחיפה.
