Turai Yosef Even Shteibok served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yosef served with the Infantry. Yosef served in the War of Independence.
בן ברכה וצבי-הירש, נולד בשנת 1913 בפולין. סיים בית-ספר עממי ובגיל צעיר התחיל לעבוד ולהתפרנס מיגיע כפיו. בשנת 1938 גויס לצבא הפולני, ומאז עברו עליו רוב שנותיו בצבא. בפרוץ מלחמת-העולם השנייה היה תחילה בקרוטולין ובאחרונה בוורשה. נפל בשבי הגרמנים, נמלט וברח לרוסיה, שם הצטרף לצבא הגנרל אנדרס; עם הצבא הזה בא לארץ ב-1941, ערק ממנו והצטרף לקיבוץ. אך כעבור זמן קצר התגייס שוב, הפעם לצבא הבריטי, ושירת בו מ17.2.1942- עד לשחרורו ב-29.7.1946. נשלח לעיראק. על פעולותיו זכה באות-הצטיינות. מיום שחרורו עד להתגייסותו לצה"ל גר בתל-אביב. עבד בטייחות, והקים משפחה. יוסף נפל במערכה על פריצת הדרך לירושלים ביום ו' באייר תש"ח (15.5.1948) והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק. הניח אישה, שרה, ובת.
