Turai Yehorma Rozi served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yehorma served with the Infantry. Yehorma served in the War of Independence. Yehorma was 19 years old.

What Happened

בן שרה ויוסף, נולד ביום כ"ז בסיוון תרפ"ט (5.7.1929) בתל-אביב. בהיותו ילד רך נתייתם מאביו והתחנך בבית-היתומים בלובשטיין אשר בתל-אביב. הוא למד בבית-ספר יסודי ולאחר ששהה 8 שנים בבית-היתומים עבר לקבוצת יבנה. שהה שם כשנתיים, חזר לתל- אביב והחל לעבוד כפועל-דפוס. בהיותו בן 14 הצטרף לשורות ה"הגנה" והשתתף בפעולותיה. בן שש-עשרה וחצי התגייס לנוטרות ושירת במשטרת רמת הכובש. השתתף גם בפעולת העלייה לביריה ובפעולות אחרות. עם פרוץ מלחמת-העצמאות גויס לצבא ובמסגרת חטיבת "אלכסנדרוני" השתתף בקרבות ואדי ערה, כפר סבא הערבית, טנטורה, קאקון, רנתיה, וילהלמה, ואום-זרע. ב-15 ביולי 1948 בערב החליפה פלוגתו פלוגה אחרת מהחטיבה במשלטים שממזרח לקולה וטרם הספיקה להיערך ולהתחפר כהלכה במקום. בבוקר ט' בתמוז תש"ח (16.7.1948) תקפו כוחות הלגיון את המשלט וכשהם מסתייעים באש ארטילרית ושריוניות, שטפו את עמדות המחלקה במשלט הקדמי ואילצו את הפלוגה לסגת. בקרב זה נפל, ביום י' בתמוז תש"ח (17.7.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
