What Happened

בן מרים ומיכאל, נולד ביום כ"ג בחשוון תרצ"ג 22.11.1932)) בתל- אביב. שם סיים את בית-הספר היסודי "נס ציונה" והצטיין בחשבון ובציור. שנתיים למד בסטודיו לציור, חצי שנה עבד במוסך, יצא לעבוד במשק הוריו בכפר מל"ל והתאמן בגדנ"ע בקלמניה. במלחמת-העצמאות, כשיהודים רבים נפלו במערכה, החליט לנקום את דמם. בהיותו בן 16 וחצי, אילץ את הוריו לרמות את לשכת הגיוס ולהגזים במספר שנותיו, וכך נתקבל לשירות פעיל. הוא עבר אימונים שונים, השתתף בהגנת ירושלים ובקרבות ליד אבו-גוש, ובאחת החופשות בבית "הבטיח" לאמו בפשטות טבעית, שהשנה יגמור את חייו במלחמה. כן שירת כאלחוטן ליד יחידת תותחנים. בחזית לטרון ירה במקלעו במטוס אויב שהפציץ אותם. אליהו נפגע בפצצה ואחרי שני ימי גסיסה מת ביום י' בתמוז תש"ח 17.7.1948)). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בנחלת יצחק.
