בנם של סוליקה ואברהם . שלמה נולד במרוקו ב י"ז באייר תש"י (1.5.1950). הוא למד בבית ספר בקזבלנקה משנת 1956 עד 1964. את לימודיו התיכוניים השלים בארץ. ב-13.8.1968 התגייס שלמה לשירות סדיר במסגרת משמר הגבול, עבר טירונות בהצטיינות והוצב לשרת בפלוגה ב'. הוא שירת בפלוגה מבצעית בסיור הבוקר לפתיחת צירים ממיקוש. חבריו של שלמה מספרים כי היה דוגמה ומופת, אהבוהו מאוד, מפקדים שיבחוהו על ביצועיו ותפקידיו בכל עת. שלמה היה שוטר ישר ואמין וחבר לנשק שאין דוגמתו. הוא אהב ספורט לסוגיו, בעיקר את תחום הכדורגל: בכל רגע פנאי שיחק בכדור. ביום י"ב בניסן תשכ"ט (31.3.1969) נפל שלמה בעת מילוי תפקידו, כאשר סמוך לעין גדי, באחד העיקולים, התהפך הנגמ"ש עליו היה . שלמה היה בן תשע-עשרה בנפלו. הוא הובא למנוחות בבית העלמין בבאר שבע.
