Turai Arie-Broder Brodai served in the Israel Defense Forces. Arie-Broder served in the War of Independence.
בן שרה וצבי, נולד בשנת 1900 בעיר קוריץ, פולין. לאחר שסיים את לימודיו בבית-הספר התיכון הריאלי שבעירו עבר ללמוד בפוליטכניקום בלבוב וסיים שם גם סמינר למורים. בשנת 1933 עלה אריה ארצה, עסק בנגרות בנחלת יצחק ומשם עבר עם משפחתו לחיפה. בחיפה לימד מלאכת יד בבתי-הספר עממי א' וגאולה. במלחמת-העצמאות היה אריה, כחבר ה"הגנה", מפקד אזור מגוריו מטעם משמר-העם; תפקידו היה לדאוג לתקינותן של העמדות העבריות באזור הגבול שבין הדר הכרמל לבין הרחובות המיושבים ערבים שבסמוך. דירת מגוריו שימשה כעמדה קדמית ללוחמינו. ביום ג' באדר א' תש"ח (13.2.1948) בשעה שניסה לחזק תריס שנפגע מאש צלפים, נפגע מצרור יריות ומת. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בחלקת חללי תש"ח בבית-הקברות בחיפה. השאיר אחריו אישה ובן, שלושה אחים ואחות. ימים ספורים לאחר מותו פרצו חיילים בריטים לדירתו והחרימו כלי נשק שנמצאו בה והושארו על-ידי הלוחמים.
