Turai Shmuel Michaelof served in the Israel Defense Forces. Shmuel served with the Armored Corps. Shmuel served in the War of Independence. Shmuel was 18 years old.
בן מרים ומיכאל, נולד ביום כ"ז בכסלו תר"ץ (29.12.1929) בירושלים. משסיים את בית-הספר היסודי החל לעבוד והיה כורך- ספרים. את שכר עבודתו מסר להוריו ובכך עזר לפרנסת המשפחה בת חמש הנפשות. הוא הצטרף לתנועת "הנוער העובד" והיה חבר ב"הגנה". שמואל הצטרף למגיני העיר ואל היוצאים לפעולות בשבועות הראשונים של מלחמת-העצמאות, עת שרר מחסור חמור באנשים. עם התגייסותו המלאה נשלח מיד לקרבות, בגיזרת הקסטל, ושם נפל ביום כ"ח באדר ב' תש"ח (8.4.1948). הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בקרית ענבים.
