Turai Max Ben-Ezra served in the Israel Defense Forces. Max served with the Infantry. Max served in the Six-Day War. Max was 30 years old.

What Happened

בן יהושע ומזל-טוב. נולד ביום י"א בשבט תרצ"ז (23.1.1937) בקזבלנקה אשר במרוקו. שם למד בבית ספר יסודי ולאחר מכן - בבית ספר טכני, ואחרי השתלמות בפריז כשרטט טכני קיבל תעודת גמר בשנת 1956. לאחר עלייתו לארץ בשנת 1960 היה מבקר עבודות שרטוט. היה בעל חוש הומור דק. מלבד אהבתו לשרטוט ולציור התעניין מאוד בכל חידושי המדע. את שירותו לצה"ל נתן רק במילואים וערב מלחמת ששת הימים התנדב לצאת לקרב ממש בשעה האחרונה. היה מסור לתפקידו והתנדב לכל משימה. במכתב התנחומים למשפחתו כתב מפקדו כי "למרות שלא היה מן הצעירים בגילם היה מן הצעירים ברוחם והדביק בכוח רצונו את כל חבריו". הוא היה ביחידת סיירים - יחידת חילוץ - ונפל בקרב שנערך במבואות עזה ביום השני לקרבות, הוא יום כ"ז באייר תשכ"ז (6.6.1967). הניח אשה, שני בנים ובת שלא מלאה לה מחצית השנה בנפלו. הובא לקבורה בבית הקברות הצבאי לשעת חירום בבארי ולאחר זמן הועבר למנוחת עולמים בבית הקברות שעל הר הרצל בירושלים. זכרו הועלה בחוברת "לזכרם" שהוציאה עיריית דימונה.
