Turai Meir Netef served in the Israel Defense Forces. Meir served with the Infantry.
בן יהודה ואוגניה. נולד בשנת ת"ש (1940) בטוניס. שם למד בבית- ספר יסודי ולאחר-מכן כשעלה לארץ ב"עליית הנוער", בשנת 1956, עבר לקיבוץ עין-צורים. היה מסגר מיכני וממקצוע זה מצא את לחמו עד יומו האחרון. לצה"ל גויס ביוני 1959 ולאחר שגמר את שירותו הסדיר היה נקרא מפעם לפעם לשירות- מילואים. ואור ליום כ"ו באייר תשכ"ז (4.6.1967) בחצות הליל של יום פרוץ מלחמת ששת הימים נפל במילוי תפקידו בסביבות ירושלים הבירה. הניח אשה ובת; האשה היתה בהריונה וכעבור שלושה חדשים נולד בן הנקרא על-שמו. הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית- הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים. מפקד-יחידתו כתב למשפחה השכולה כי היה "חייל טוב וממושמע, מקובל על חבריו ומפקדיו - ומותו עורר צער כבד בלב כל אנשי היחידה".
