Samal Yosef Pesel served in the Israel Defense Forces. Yosef served with the Artillery Corps. Yosef was 19 years old.
בן אברהם ורעיה. נולד ביום י' באלול תש"ז (26.8.1947) בעיר לודז' אשר בפולין. אחרי עלות המשפחה לארץ נכנס יוסף לבית-הספר על-שם גרשון אגרון בקרית-היובל שבירושלים, סיים את לימודיו היסודיים בו ולאחר-מכן למד בבית-הספר התיכון שליד האוניברסיטה העברית עד שסיים את לימודיו התיכוניים. גויס לצה"ל באוגוסט 1965 ולפני גמרו את שירותו הסדיר, ביום כ"ט בשבט תשכ"ז (9.2.1967), נפל בשעת מילוי תפקידו והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי שעל הר-הרצל בירושלים. הוריו תרמו את הפסנתר, שעליו התאמן יוסף, לאקדמיה למוסיקה שבירושלים ועליו ציון לזכרו.
