בן נעמי ומרדכי. נולד ביום כ"ב בשבט תש"ל (29.1.1970) בארצות-הברית ועלה ארצה עם משפחתו כשהיה בן שמונה חודשים. למד בבית-הספר היסודי 'אוולין דה רוטשילד' בירושלים. אחרי-כן סיים את לימודיו בישיבה התיכונית 'נתיב מאיר' בירושלים. בעז גויס לצה"ל באמצע פברואר 1988 והתנדב ליחידה מובחרת בחיל-הצנחנים. ביום י"ג בסיוון תשמ"ח (28.5.1988), תוך כדי פעילות מבצעית באזור יריחו, נפל בעז בעת מילוי תפקידו והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-העלמין הצבאי בהר הרצל בירושלים. השאיר אחריו הורים, שתי אחיות - מיכל ויעל ואח - עמי. במכתב תנחומים למשפחה השכולה כתב מפקדו: "בנכם בעז היווה דוגמה אישית לחבריו כחייל כלוחם וכמתנדב בצה"ל ובצנחנים בפרט". הוריו תרמו לזכרו הדפסות מוגדלות של התפילה לשלום המדינה וחיילי צה"ל כדי להפיצם בבתי-כנסת בארץ ובגולה.
