Samal Nahman Levin served in the Israeli Air Force. Nahman served with the Air Force. Nahman served in the First Intifada and the South Lebanon Security Zone. Nahman was 32 years old.
בן פרידה ויוסף. נולד ביום ב' בתשרי תשי"ז (7.9.1956) בירושלים. בתחילת יוני 1975 גויס נחמן לשירות חובה בצה"ל. הוא עבר מסלול טירונות ושובץ כפקיד-מחסנאי בחיל האוויר. מפקדיו העריכו אותו כחייל יסודי, בעל יוזמה, אחראי ומסור לעבודתו, חרוץ ויעיל, ממושמע, בעל כושר ארגון וניהול. התמחותו ויושרו בכל תחום בעבודתו היו ברמה הגבוהה ביותר. לאחר שחרורו משירותו בצה"ל, החל נחמן את עבודתו כמנהל חשבונות במחלקת הכספים בהנהלת בתי המשפט בירושלים. באמצע חודש אוקטובר 1988 נקרא לשירות מילואים. ביום ט' בחשוון תשמ"ט (20.10.1988) נפל נחמן בעת שירותו. הוא נפטר ממחלה, והובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-העלמין הצבאי בהר הרצל בירושלים. הותיר אחריו הורים, ארבעה אחים ושתי אחיות, בן שלושים-ושתיים היה במותו. במכתב תנחומים למשפחה השכולה כתב מפקד יחידתו: "בנכם היקר סמל נחמן ז"ל, שירת בבסיס חיל האוויר בצריפין. הוא היה חייל שקט, ממושמע ומקובל על כל הצוות. יהי זכרו ברוך".
