בן רגינה ומשה, נולד בשנת 1930 בעיר פלובדיב, בולגריה. את השכלתו קנה לו בבית-ספר עממי ואת חינוכו העברי - בתנועת "השומר הצעיר", שהצטרף אליה בנעוריו. על אף גילו הצעיר היה טכנאי-שיניים מומחה. חורבן יהדות אירופה ומאבק היישוב על חירותו השפיעו עליו, ובקוצר-רוח חיכה לשעה שיוכל לעלות לארץ ולהילחם את מלחמת שחרורה. עם ההכרזה על הקמת מדינת ישראל, הצליח להגיע לחופי הארץ, אך רק שבועים ימי-חיים נועדו לו במולדת. שבת התגייס מיד לחטיבה 7, שזה עתה הוקמה, והשתתף במבצע "בן-נון ב'", ההתקפה השנייה על מתחם לטרון, כשעל יחידתו הוטל לתקוף את הכפר דיר איוב. בקרב זה נפל ביום כ"ב באייר תש"ח (31.5.1948). ביום י"א באדר תש"י (28.2.1950) הועבר למנוחת-עולמים בבית-הקברות הצבאי בהר- הרצל בירושלים.
